Happy New Year!!!

Just like last year, I'm spending the New Year holidays with my family in Hita. I came yesterday with the shinkansen and I have to confirm that this train is wonderful! I usually don't sleep well in public transportations but the shinkansen is particular: just a few minutes before I get asleep. The problem was to get a seat because the train was crowded, I hadn't made a reservation and consequently had to wait an hour and a half before things start to ease up. Anyway I'm here and that's the most important. I'm staying for a couple days before getting back to Nagoya, where I still have lots of things to do with my new apartment.
Customs have obviously not changed since last year so I won't say the same old things again, just show some pictures:

You can see that the お年玉(otoshidama) custom is still as popular with children:

And in the afternoon, I went to the temple with my cousin to draw the おみくじ(omikuji), a kind of fortune-telling about the upcoming year:

As the snow shows, it's rather cold here and I can't wait to go to that onsen tomorrow...
Happy new year 2008 to everyone!!!
